Biografia:
Nato a Bruxelles nel 1978, ha vissuto negli Stati Unuti, in Belgio e nel Regno Unito. Ha studiato Design Products al Royal College of Art di Londra dove si è laureato nel 2003. Nel 2004, Sylvain ha aperto il suo studio a Bruxelles. Si occupa di progetti che vanno dall’illuminazione al product design all’arredamento. Il suo approccio al design è caratterizzato da un amore evidente per i materiali e i processi.Lo spirito del suo lavoro è diretto e privo di complicazioni.Pur rimanendo semplici, le sue soluzioni di design sono pertinenti, innovative ed energiche. Il SylvainWillenzDesignStudio lavora a livello internazionale con clienti come Established & Sons, Freecom, Feld, Karimoku, Skitsch, Tamawa. Recentemente, ai suoi lavori sono stati attribuiti vari riconoscimenti fra cui un iF Award e un Red Dot Award "Best of the Best" in Product Design nel 2009. La serie di lampade Torch è stata riconosciuta com miglior prodotto nel Lighting and Product of the Year, allo UK Grand Designs Awards.

Biography:
Born in Brussels in 1978, Sylvain Willenz has lived consecutively in the US, Belgium and the UK. He studied Product Design at the Royal College of Art in London, where he graduated in 2003. In 2004, he opened his studio in Brussels. His work encompasses everything from lighting to product design and furniture, and his straightforward, uncomplicated approach to design is characterized by an evident passion for materials and processes. Without compromising their simplicity, his design solutions are always relevant, innovative and powerful. SylvainWillenzDesignStudio works internationally with clients such as Established & Sons, Freecom, Feld, Karimoku, Skitsch and Tamawa. Recently, his works have received several awards, including an iF award and a Red Dot 'Best of the Best' award in the Product Design category in 2009. His Torch light series was named Best in Lighting and Product of the Year at the UK Grand Designs Awards.
