Biografia:
Nato nel 1964, il suo approccio progettuale à allo stesso tempo artistico e sperimentale e va dall’architettura all’industrial design. Attratto dalle tecnologie più innovative, ha contribuito a introdurre nuovi materiali e nuove tecniche nel settore del product design, con progetti come la collezione Soft Cell per Zanotta. La sua Juli Chair (Cappellini) è stato il primo pezzo d’arredo a utilizzare poliuterano integrale ed è stata la prima sedia progettata in Germania selezionata per la collezione permanente del MoMA di New York nel 1964. Ha ricevuto premi in tutto il mondo: il Compasso d’Oro a Milano, il Design Prize della Repubblica Federale Tedesca, il Red Dot Award e il FX Award in Inghilterra. I suoi progetti fanno parte delle collezioni permanenti di musei quali il MoMA e il Metropolitan Museum di New York, il French Fonds National d´Art Contemporain di Parigi, il Museum Neue Sammlung di Monaco e il Vitra Design Museum di Basilea.

Biography:
The works of designer Werner Aisslinger (b. 1964) cover the spectrum of experimental, artistic approaches, including industrial design and architecture. He delights in making use of the latest technologies and has helped introduce new materials and techniques to the world of product design, such as his unique gel furniture, showcased in the Soft Cell collection for Zanotta. The Juli chair (Cappellini) was the first item of furniture to use a new type of foam called 'polyurethane integral foam' and became the first German chair design since 1964 to be ed for MoMA New York's permanent exhibition. He has received awards all around the world, from Milan's Compasso d'Oro to the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Red Dot Award and the FX Award in the UK. His work is exhibited in the permanent collections of museums such as MoMA and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the French Fonds National d´Art Contemporain in Paris, the Neue Sammlung Museum in Munich and the Vitra Design Museum in Weil, Germany.
