Biografia:
Nata nel 1973, di nazionalità lussemburghese, si è laureata alla Glasgow School of Art nel 1998. Da allora si è trasferita a Milano per imparare il savoir-faire italiano e per progettare. Ha accumulato esperienza presso Cassina e negli studi dei designers italiani Marco Ferreri e Stefano Giovannoni. Dopo essere stata per otto anni il braccio destro di James Irvine, designer di fama internazionale, si lancia da sola nel 2007. Con il suo studio si occupa di furniture, industrial ed exhibition design. Insegna all’Istituto Europeo di Design. Nel suo lavoro cerca di progettare prodotti coerenti ed essenziali in tutti i sensi. Parola d'ordine: semplicità. Attraverso la facilità d'uso, forme e linee chiare, un utilizzo onesto dei materiali e tenendo sempre presente sia il processo produttivo sia l'utilizzatore finale. Il suo background distintamente europeo la porta a combinare l'essenzialità nordica all'eleganza e alla tradizione produttiva italiana.

Biography:
A native of Luxembourg, Dunja Weber was born in 1973 and graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1998. She then moved to Milan to learn all about the Italians' flair for design, accumulating experience at Cassina and at the practices of Italian designers Marco Ferreri and Stefano Giovannoni. After eight years as the right-hand woman of internationally renowned designer James Irvine, she set out on her own in 2007. Her practice deals with furniture, industrial and exhibition design, and she also teaches at the Istituto Europeo di Design. The aim of her work is to design products that are coherent and essential in every sense, and her watchword is simplicity. Accordingly, her products are geared towards ease of use, with clear forms and lines and an honest use of materials. She always focuses squarely on both the production process and the end user. Her distinctly European background has led her to combine Nordic essentiality with Mediterranean elegance and craftsmanship.
