Biografia:
Nata nel 1958 in California, ha studiato Fashion Illustration all'Art Center College of Design di Pasadena e si è trasferita nel 1988 a Milano dove ha frequentato la Domus Academy. Nel 1991 ha fondato il suo studio di design, lavorando per diverse società europee quali: Adidas, Arte e Cuoio, Bisazza, BRF, Marco Bicego, Dom Ceramica, Edra, Emmebi, Esprit, Interflex, Flou, Montblanc, Plumcake kids, Prénatal, Simas, Swatch, Vice Versa e Zanotta. Si è occupata di progetti molto diversi: allestimenti, art-direction e grafica, accessori di moda, prodotti per la casa e per l'infanzia, accessori e sanitari per il bagno. Ha insegnato design in Domus Academy, allo IED, all'università degli studi La Sapienza di Roma e dal 1998 tiene un corso di fashion designal Politecnico di Milano. Alcuni suoi progetti sono stati selezionati per concorrere al Compasso d'Oro, altri sono stati inclusi nell' ADI Design Index, nell’International Design Yearbook e in varie mostre dedicate al design italiano.
Biography:
Terri Pecora was born in 1958 in California, and studied Fashion Illustration at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena before moving to Milan in 1988 to attend the Product Design Masters Programme at the Domus Academy. In 1991, she set up her own practice, which has since worked with various European companies including Adidas, Art & Cuoio, Bisazza, BRF, Marco Bicego, Dom Ceramica, Edra, Emmebi, Esprit, Interflex, Flou, Montblanc, Plumcake kids, Prènatal, Simas, Swatch, Vice Versa and Zanotta. Pecora has worked in numerous different sectors, from furniture design, interiors and set design to fashion accessories, household items, children's products, accessories and bathroom suites. She has taught at the Domus Academy, the Istituto Europeo del Design, Rome's La Sapienza University, and the Politecnico di Milano. She has been a runner-up at the Compasso d'Oro awards, and many of her designs have been included in the ADI Design Index and the International Design Yearbook, as well as appearing in touring showcases of Italian Design.
