Nato nel 1958 a Cardiff, si laurea in Industrial Design al Politecnico di Manchester nel 1980 e nel 1983 consegue il Master di Design al Royal College of Art di Londra. Collabora con Frog Design in Germania a progetti come il Walkman Sony e i computer Apple. Trasferitosi a Parigi, viene invitato a entrare nell’Atelier de Nîmes - insieme a Jean Nouvel e Phillipe Stark - per fare da consulente ad aziende quali Cacharel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes e DuPont. Tornato a Londra nel 1988, lavora per British Airways, Kartell, Ceccotti, Cappellini, Idee, Moroso, Loom, Driade, Peugeot, Apple, Olympus, Luceplan, Tag Heuer, Hackman, Alias, Herman Miller, Japan Airlines e Toyo Ito Architects. Vincitori di numerosi riconoscimenti internazionali, i suoi lavori sono pubblicati su riviste e vengono esposti in prestigiosi musei di tutto il mondo. Tra questi il MoMA e il Guggenheim Museum di New York, l’Axis Centre Japan, il Pompidou Centre di Parigi e il Design Museum di Londra.
Biography:
Born in 1958 in Cardiff, Ross Lovegrove graduated in Industrial Design from Manchester Polytechnic in 1980, and in 1983 he completed his Masters in Design at London's Royal College of Art. He worked with Frog Design in Germany on projects such as the Sony Walkman and Apple computers. He then moved to Paris, and was invited to work with the Atelier de Nîmes - together with Jean Nouvel and Phillipe Stark - to provide consultancy services to companies including Cacharel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes and DuPont. On returning to London in 1988, he worked for British Airways, Kartell, Ceccotti, Cappellini, Idee, Moroso, Loom, Driade, Peugeot, Apple, Olympus, Luceplan, Tag Heuer, Hackman, Alias, Herman Miller, Japan Airlines and Toyo Ito Architects. Winner of numerous international awards, his designs are featured in magazines and are regularly exhibited in prestigious museums around the world, including MoMA and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Axis Centre in Japan, the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Design Museum in London.
