Lee Kwangho è nato nei sobborghi di Seoul, dove vive tutt’oggi. Si è specializzato in Metal Craft & Design all’università di Hongik, dove si è laureat nel 2007. Attualmente ha 28 anni. Fin da piccolo amava creare oggetti con le proprie mani, passione che ha sicuramente ifluito sulla sua carriera professionale. La sua vocazione deriva dall’infanzia trascorsa in una fattorianell’aamirazione di suo nonno che costruiva attrezzi domestici e agricoli con materiali e oggetti trovati nella fattoria e nei boschi. La sua casa era piena di cose create da lui: oggi continua a progettare sull’onda di quei ricordi e da essi trae ispirazione, usando le proprie mani per realizzare oggetti con nuovi significati e funzioni.Non sono solo vecchi ricordi. Egli è convinto che quello stile di vita, così come questo approccio al design, siano preziosi.
Biography:
Lee Kwangho was born on the outskirts of Seoul, the city that he calls home to this day. He majored in Metal Craft & Design at Hongik University, graduating in February 2007. He is currently 28 years old. His fascination with making things with his hands has been with him since childhood, and has been instrumental in his choice of career. As a boy living on a farm, he would gaze in wonder at his grandfather, who was wont to make household items and farming tools with objects he would come across on the farm and in the surrounding woodlands. The family home was chock-full of items made by his grandfather, and he continues to draw on that source of inspiration, using his hands to endow objects with new meanings and functions. Kwangho is convinced that this kind of lifestile and his approach to design have considerable value.
