Biografia:
Nato a Tokyo nel 1942. Si laurea in Ingegneria Aerospaziale nel 1965 e svolge un Master of Science nel 1967 alla Nihon University di Tokyo dove progetta un aereo a propulsione umana. Dal 1967 vive a Milano.
È membro dell'A.D.I. - Associazione Italiana Design Industriale e del S.I.E. - Società Italiana di Ergonomia, del Japan Design Committee e del Japan Inter-Design Forum. Ha insegnato in diversi istituti e università in Italia e all’estero. Ha ricevuto importanti premi tra cui: Compasso d'Oro, Premio SMAU, Good Design Award al Chicago Athenaeum, Premio Red Dot, Good Design Award in Giappone. Ha collaborato con importanti aziende tra cui Arflex, Bisazza, Bosch Telecom, Cassina, Fiat, Fujitsu, Itoki, Kale Group, Loccioni, Luxit, Mitsubishi, Philips, Piaggio, Sacea, Sacmi, Segis, S.N.C.F., Steelcase Strafor, Tiffany, Tonelli, Valenti e Zanussi.

Biography:
Born in Tokyo in 1942, Isao Hosoe received Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees (in 1965 and 1967, respectively) in Aerospace Engineering from the Nihon University of Tokyo, with a thesis entitled The Manually Powered Aircraft. He has been living in Milan since 1967. He is a Member of A.D.I. (the Italian Association of Industrial Designers), S.I.E. (the Italian Society of Ergonomics), the Japan Design Committee and the Japan Inter-Design Forum. He has lectured at a number of institutes both in Italy and overseas. The awards he has received include: the Compasso d'Oro award, the SMAU Award, the Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum, the Red Dot Award and the Good Design Award in Japan. His clients include: Arflex, Bisazza, Bosch Telecom, Cassina, Fiat, Fujitsu, Itoki, Kale Group, Loccioni, Luxit, Mitsubishi, Philips, Piaggio, Sacea, Sacmi, Segis, S.N.C.F., Steelcase Strafor Tiffany, Tonelli, Valenti and Zanussi.
