Nato a Brussels nel 1970, per Alain Gilles il design è come una seconda vita.Dopo aver studiato scienze politiche e Marketing Management, ha continuato a lavorare nel mondo della finanza. Ma ognuno deve seguire la propria vocazione così, grazie al supporto morale di sua moglie, ha ricominciato a studiare industrial design in Francia.Dopo aver assistito Xavier Lust nelle sue creazioni, fu alla fine assunto da Quinze & Milan prima di laurearsi. Ha lavorato per Arne Quinze come designer e project manager su vari progetti di alto profilo per noti architetti e aziende a livello mondiale. Ha fondato il proprio studio nel 2007per inseguire i propri sogni e sviluppare il suo personale approccio nel product design, furniture design, art direction e interior architecture. Ha iniziato a collaborare con varie aziende internazionali quali Qui est Paul?, Urbastyle, Bonaldo.
Biography:
Born in 1970 in Brussels, for Alain Gilles, design is something of a second career. After studying Political Sciences and Marketing Management, he went on to work in the financial world. He came to the realisation that it was not for him and, thanks to plenty of moral support from his wife, he started to study industrial design in France. Having assisted Xavier Lust on his creations, he was eventually hired by Quinze & Milan before graduating. He worked for Arne Quinze as a designer, developer and project manager on several high-profile projects for world-renowned architects and publishers. He set up his own practice in 2007 in order to pursue his own dreams and develop his personal approach to product design, furniture design, art direction and interior architecture. He has since collaborated with several international publishers including Qui est Paul?, Urbastyle and Bonaldo.
