Biografia:
Donato D'Urbino e Paolo Lomazzi operano nei campi dell’architettura, degli allestimenti, degli arredamenti e del product design, collaborando con alcune tra le più note aziende in Italia e nel mondo. Hanno fondato lo Studio nel 1966 insieme all’arch. Jonathan De Pas che è mancato nel 1991. All'attività progettuale uniscono quella teorica e culturale. Partecipano a numerose giurie di concorsi e svolgono attività didattiche, tra queste le docenze alle Facoltà di Design del Politecnico di Milano e dello IUAV di Venezia. La loro produzione è documentata nella letteratura storica sul design italiano e nelle principali pubblicazioni internazionali di architettura e disegno industriale. Numerose loro opere sono state esposte e fanno parte delle collezioni permanenti di design in vari musei del mondo. Tra i premi ottenuti: il Compasso d'Oro (1979, Milano), il BIO 7 (1977, Lubiana) e il BIO 9 (1981 Lubiana), il Design Award Winner (1998, Hannover).
Biography:
Donato D'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi operate in a variety of fields – architecture, staging, interior design and product design – collaborating with some of the most well-known companies in Italy and around the world. They established their practice in 1966, together with Jonathan De Pas, who passed away in 1991. Alongside their design work, they are also engaged in theory-based and cultural work. They have served on numerous competition juries and currently lecture at the Faculty of Design at the Politecnico di Milano and at the IUAV in Venice. Their works have been featured in books on the history of Italian design and in international journals of architecture and industrial design. Many of their works have been exhibited and form part of the permanent design collections of a number of museums around the world. They have received several awards, including the Compasso d’Oro (1979, Milan), the BIO 7 (1977, Ljubljana) and the BIO 9 (1981, Ljubljana), and the Design Award Winner (1998, Hanover).
