Biografia:
Nato nel 1950, vive a Bergamo. A metà degli anni Ottanta inizia la produzione in piccola serie di lampade di sua creazione destinata al negozio di sua proprietà. Nel 1989 le lampade vengono notate da Renate e Peter Meese, distributori di Düsseldorf, e, presentate per la prima volta a Fiera Ambiente a Francoforte, riscuotono un immediato successo commerciale. Nello stesso anno fonda la Catellani & Smith, che porta con creatività, tenacia e ottimi collaboratori a un successo di prestigio, dall’Europa al resto del mondo. L’unicità del sistema produttivo e la particolarità degli ambienti lavorativi sono meta di interesse e visite da parte di riviste del settore e clienti internazionali. La sua storia è stata scritta in tutte le lingue e le citazioni su riviste che lo riguardano sono innumerevoli. In poche parole si può dire che ha inventato un nuovo stile di lavoro che rispecchia le sue capacità.

Biography:
Born in 1950, Enzo Catellani lives in Bergamo. During the 1980s, he began the limited-series production of lamps made to his designs, for sale through his own shop. In 1989, the lamps attracted the attention of Düsseldorf-based distributors Renate and Peter Meese, who presented them at the Ambiente expo in Frankfurt, where they were rapturously received. In the same year, he set up the Catellani & Smith company, which – thanks to a combination of creativity and determination, and the input of an excellent team – led to prestigious successes both in Europe and around the world. The uniqueness of the company's production system and the particular nature of their facilities have made Castellani & Smith a favourite of specialist journals and international clients. Castellani has been featured in numerous periodicals around the world. In short, he has invented a new working style that reflects his specific skills.
