Biografia:
Ronan Bouroullec (nato nel 1971) e Erwan Bouroullec (nato nel 1976) hanno lavorato insieme per circa dieci anni. Oggi progettano per varie aziende, tra cui Vitra, Kvadrat, Magis, Kartell, Ligne Roset, Issey Miyake e Cappellini. Nello stesso tempola loro attività di sperimentazione prosegue alla Galerie Kreo di Parigi, dove tra il 2001 ed il 2008 sono state allestite quattro rassegne dei loro progetti.
Nominati Designers dell’Anno al Salon du Meuble nel 2002, altri riconoscimenti ricevuti includono il Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris, il New Designer Award all’International Contemporary Furniture Fair di New York, il Finn-Juhl Prize, per due volte il “Best of the Best” Red Dot Design Award. Alla loro opera sono state dedicate diverse esposizioni e i loro lavori si trovano nelle collezioni di vari musei quail il Centre Pompidou in Parigi, il Museum of Modern Art di New York, il Design Museum di Londra e il Museum Boijmans van Beuningen di Rotterdam. Il loro lavoro progettuale è pubblicato su due monografie.
Biography:
Ronan Bouroullec (born in 1971) and Erwan Bouroullec (born in 1976) have been working together for some ten years. Today, they design for numerous manufacturers, including Vitra, Kvadrat, Magis, Kartell, Ligne Roset, Issey Miyake and Cappellini. At the same time, they continue to experiment at Galerie Kreo in Paris, where four exhibitions of their designs were held between 2001 and 2008. Voted Designers of the Year at the Salon du Meuble in 2002, their other awards include the Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris, the New Designer Award at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York and the Finn-Juhl Prize. They are also two-time winners of the 'Best of the Best' Red Dot Design Award. Several exhibitions have been devoted to their work, and their pieces can be found in the collections of museums such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Design Museum in London and the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. Two monographs have been published on their design work.
