Biografia:
Edward Barber e Jay Osgerby hanno studiato architettura al Royal College of Art di Londra e insieme nel 1996 hanno fondato BarberOsgerby. Negli ultimi dieci anni hanno lavorato trasversalmente a varie discipline per creare soluzioni nell’ambito di arredamento, illuminazione, accessori per la casa, ristoranti, negozi, bottiglie per bevande e prodotti elettronici per importanti aziende internazionali tra cui: Cappellini, Isokon Plus,Levi-Strauss, Coca Cola, Magis, Authentics, Venini, Swarovski, Flos e Established & Sons. Nel 2004 hanno ricevuto il premio Jerwood Applied Arts per l’arredamento.Entrambi sono stati nominati “Designers of the Future” al Design Basel / Miami nel 2006. Nel 2007 sono stati nominati Royal Designers for Industry dalla Royal Society of Arts. Sia Edward Barber che Jay Osgerby hanno tenuto conferenze in vari eventi internazionali e scuole di design, tra cui workshops alla Ecal, Svizzera e al Vitra Design Museum. Il loro lavoro è esposto nelle collezioni permanenti di vari musei in tutto il mondo
Biography:
Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby studied architecture together at The Royal College of Art in London and established BarberOsgerby in 1996. Over the past ten years, the two designers have worked across a wide range of disciplines to create everything from furniture, lighting, household products, restaurants, shops, drinks bottles and electronic products for leading companies based all around the world, including Cappellini, Isokon Plus, Levi-Strauss, Coca Cola, Magis, Authentics, Venini, Swarovski, Flos and Established & Sons. In 2004, BarberOsgerby were awarded the Jerwood Applied Arts Prize for Furniture. They were jointly named ‘Designers of the Future’ at Design Basel / Miami in 2006. In 2007, they were made Royal Designers for Industry by the Royal Society of Arts. Both Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby have lectured at numerous international events and design schools, hosting workshops at Ecal, Switzerland and the Vitra Design Museum. Their work is to be found in the permanent collections of museums around the world.
