Biografia:
François Azambourg dedica il suo lavoro alla sperimentazione di una combinazione tra tecnica e arti applicate. Nel 1987, consegue il Diploma Superiore delle Arti Applicate per uno studio sul sassofono che svilupperà nel corso di dieci anni con Selmer e l'IRCAM, borsista della Fondation de France, la Fondation de la Vocation e la Direction de la Musique et de la Danse. Ha ricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti tra cui il premio Villa Medici Hors les murs nel 2003 e il Grand Prix du Design de Paris 2004. I suoi progetti sono stati prodotti da Hermes, Cappellini, Domeau&Peres, Roset, Domestic, Poltrona Frau e CIAV Meisenthal. È nominato “Designer dell’anno“ al Salone del Mobile 2009 a Parigi, dove presenta Lin 94, una serie di mobili in fibra di lino annegato in resina termoindurente progettata per la DCS (Design Composites Solutions).
Biography:
François Azambourg experiments with a combination of technique and applied arts. In 1987, he completed his Higher Diploma in Applied Arts with a study on the saxophone, which he went on to develop over the course of ten years with Selmer and the IRCAM, receiving a bursary from the Fondation de France, the Fondation de la Vocation and the Direction de la Musique et de la Danse. He has been showered with awards, including the Villa Medici Hors Les Murs prize in 2003 and the Grand Prix du Design de Paris in 2004. His designs have been put into production by Hermes, Cappellini, Domeau&Peres, Roset, Domestic, Poltrona Frau and CIAV Meisenthal. He was named 'Designer of the Year' at the 2009 Paris Furniture Fair, where he unveiled his Lin 94, a series of furnishings made from flax fibre dipped in thermosetting resin, designed for DCS (Design Composites Solutions).
